FRIENDS and colleagues of South Essex paramedic Neil Ruch have produced a musical tribute to their colleague who lost his life after contracting Covid-19.

Neil, a senior paramedic, passed away on 18 May after a brave fight with coronavirus.
He lived on Canvey Island and was based in Basildon but was particularly close to ambulance service colleagues in Thurrock.

Mr Ruch had worked for EEAST as a paramedic since December 2013 and was based in the south west area of Essex.

A statement from the ambulance service said: “Previous to this he worked for the London Ambulance Service. Neil was a paramedic of the highest standard and someone that made patients feel safe in his care. Neil was a role model for others to look up to.

“It is apparent in speaking to colleagues of Neil’s, that he was a warm individual who had a good sense of humour. He was highly respected among his peers.

“Our thoughts and prayers go out to Neil’s family and friends for their sad loss.”
