Appeal for info after dramatic van crash

POLICE have issued a call for information about a crash in Chadwell St Mary that involved an overturned vehicle and a man being taken to Basildon Hospital for treatment.

It happened in the very early hours of Monday (13 June), just after midnight on Brentwood Road, close to the junction with Sleepers Farm Road.

A statement from Essex Police says: "We were called to reports of a van that hit a lamppost in Brentwood Road. One person was treated at the scene.

"We need anyone who saw anything or has any CCTV, dash cam, or doorbell footage to contact us.

 An East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson added: "We were called at 12.04am on Monday. An ambulance was sent to the scene and transported an adult man to Basildon and Thurrock University Hospital for treatment."
