POLICE have now arrested 268 people following protests held in Thurrock over the government's oil and gas policybduring the last six days.

People have been arrested on suspicion of a variety of offences at a number of locations across the district.

THURROCK Council chief executive Lyn Carpenter has used her blog to council staff members to tell them that recent news reports, led by Thurrock Nub News' coverage, incorrectly report the state of affairs regarding the council's widely-criticised civic office extension.

Nub News has led the way in reporting that the blunder-prone council has committed yet another gaffe in its series of blighted infrastructure projects by botching the creation of the civic chamber in the new building – and creating a number of office spaces not fit for purpose.
