ENTREPRENEUR and flamboyant Traveller personality Alfie Best has spoken of his plans to take East Thurrock United Football Club on to 'bigger and better things'.

As reported exclusively on Thurrock Nub News yesterday (Saturday, 19 July) Mr Best arrived by helicopter at the club's Rookery Hill ground and announced the sponsorship of the club by his park homes company Wyldecrest Parks.

MILLIONARE businessman Alfie Best says he thinks East Thurrock United should aspire to getting into the Football League and he plans to create a new purpose-built community stadium.

The Thurrock-based entrepreneur owner of Wyldecrest Parks, which has more than 80 static home sites in the UK - has spent a 'seven figure sum' to buy the club's ground at Rookery Hill and a half share in the Isthmian League Premier Division club.

SUPPORTERS of East Thurrock United FC were treated to the arrival of new club director and sponsor Alfie Best of Wyldecrest Parks when he arrived by helicopter to publicly announce his backing for the Isthmian Premier club.

East Thurrock, which had been in serious financial trouble, has undergone a close season resurgence with the creation of a new company, East Thurrock United (2020) Ltd, which lists Mr Best, previous club owner Dominque Bennett and her cousin, Gary Brownlie as the new directors. Ms Bennett, daughter of club stalwart Bennie Bennett who passed away last year is listed as having a controlling interest in the club. All the directors are listed as using Wyldecrest Parks' HQ in West Thurrock as their correspondence address.
