In reality the Rubicon river in northern Italy was of little consequence except for the fact that it marked the official border between Italy and Gaul (now largely in France). In 49 B.C. The question on everybody's mind now is when will rugby restart? With the easing of lockdown, the re-opening of schools and a reduction of new infections, hopes will rise.

AS Thurrock Rugby Club has been working hard to negate the impacts of the coronavirus virus on its fiances (see story) the club has been heartened by news this evening that it has been moved back to the northern section of London Division One next season.

The club were drafted into the southern half of the competition three seasons ago - a move which included some fairly lengthy travelling to away matches.
