POLICE have now arrested 13 people at protests in Thurrock against the oil and petrol industry.

As reported on Nub News earlier today (Friday, 1 April) members of the 'Just Stop Oil' coalition targeted petrol storage site in West Thurrock and Purfleet.

RESIDENTS of Stanford and Corringham who have supported the towns' carnival were praised at a presentation evening tonight (Saturday, 2 April) when £7,500 was presented to good causes.

It was all raised despite the fact that the carnival has not taken place for two years because of Covid-19.

Today (Saturday, 2 April) Thurrock men's first team will be looking to bounce back from last week's derby defeat at Brentwood when they entertain one of the founder members of the Rugby Football Union, Belsize Park, for a London North clash that kicks off at 3pm.

BRENTWOOD just about managed to hold on against a spirited Thurrock in a committed London One North encounter at King George's Field on Saturday (26 March).

ON the day after the latest deadline passed for the completion of Thurrock Council's much-ridiculed A13 widening project, an opposition councillor has slammed the 'incompetence' of the ruling Conservative group and its inability to manage infrastructure projects.

In a statement issued today (April 1), Cllr Martin Kerin says: "Today is April Fool's Day - an appropriate day for this joke of an administration currently running Thurrock Council! If someone had to said to me back in October 2019 that the A13 widening still wouldn't be completed by March 2022, even I wouldn't have believed that Thurrock's Conservatives could be that incompetent.
