A THURROCK woman who, eight years ago, was crowned the borough's businesswoman of the year has added to her accomplishments by publishing a book which she hopes will prove inspirational to others.

Andrea Ince, who now lives in Langdon Hills, was honoured for her work in business at the borough awards in 2014 and she has gone on to carve out a niche as a business consultant and PR consultant.

A TEARFUL dad has spoken of the emotional moments and his gratitude when he and his daughter, who was seriously injured in a collision with a bus, came face to face with its driver and a first aider who helped mitigate the impact of her injuries.

Thurrock man Mike Jones and his daughter Amy, who is recovering well after a couple of weeks receiving treatment in hospital, travelled to Purfleet to meet Ensign bus driver Jason and Paul Dibble, an off duty firefighter who was among the first on the scene at the incident in Grays on 2 February.

COUNCILLORS in a Grays ward where Thurrock Council hopes to build more than 50 new homes have been critical of the authority's ability to share and consult with residents.

On the day (Tuesday, 15 March) that the council held a little-heralded public consultation event about the plans to build on the Darnley Road car park near the town centre in Grays, Grays Riverside ward councillors have spoken of their frustration.

Lamar Johnson - sent off for Tilbury

AVELEY'S hopes of going back to the top of the Isthmian North were denied this evening (Tuesday, 15 March) after the Millers were held to a goalless draw at Maldon and Tiptree.

The point lifted Aveley one place to second, a point behind leaders Canvey and level with Stowmarket on 63 points, but with a better goals difference. Stowmarket also have a match in hand so their trip to Parkside to meet Aveley on Saturday, 26 March could be pivotal as the title race goes right down to the wire.
