ONE of the key managers at the Port of Tilbury has taken on an expanded role within the wider Forth Ports organisation, though he will continue to run the local port's London Container Terminal.

Ross McKissock has been appointed as Director of Unitised, responsible for integrating the commercial team on unitised container and trailer cargo across the Group and growing volume. Ross will retain his responsibilities for running London Container Terminal and will continue to report to Paul Dale, Asset & Site Director at the Port of Tilbury.

Alan Hudson

COLLEAGUES and friends of a highly respected a much-loved and generous Thurrock couple who died within weeks of each other have expressed their deep sadness at the double loss.

Alan Hudson was the Patient and Public Involvement Lay Member of Thurrock Clinical Commissioning Group's (CCG) board and he died suddenly just before Christmas. His wife Sandy passed away early in January.

THURROCK Conservative councillors halted bids to breach restrictions on transparency and democracy by bringing the curtain down prematurely on a meeting of the borough council, avoiding the need for its senior members to have to answer difficult questions.

The saga played out this evening (Wednesday, 26 January) when bids to bring controversial issues into the open were thwarted as Tory councillors elected to go home rather than complete a packed council agenda at its latest full meeting.

More carriageway closures on A13

FOR a third weekend in a row major works on the A13 will be causing traffic disruption.

In fact closures began last night (Wednesday, 26 January) and they will be repeated tonight when the A13 eastbound will be closed between the A128 (Orsett) and A1014 (Stanford-le-Hope) junctions, between 10pm and 5am.
