ESSEX police are calling on anyone whose lives were significantly disrupted by recent protest by climate change campaigners in the region to come forward and submit details as the force builds cases against arrested protesters.

Detectives' investigations into five mornings of disruption on the M25 and local roads are progressing and the force say it remains 'in consistent dialogue' with the Crown Prosecution Service on the issue.

PLANNING officers have given approval to an application to increase the number of flats on a plot of land in Stanford-le-Hope.

The green light was given in October 2018 for the redevelopment of the Fairview Court site at Fairview Chase to provide six two-bedroom flats, and three, one-bedroom flats in one split-level block.

THURROCK Council's Conservative leader has admitted to an embarrassing gaffe and apologised after getting his recollections of the borough's debt wrong.

Cllr Rob Gledhill had spoken up to defend the council's financial strategies in the wake of news that 500 jobs are to be cut from the council employment roster, including up to 250 people starting the new year by being made redundant!

ONE of the stalwarts at Purfleet-on-Thames Heritage Museum and Military Centre has paid tribute to Thurrock Yacht Club for giving them a view from the Thames of the centre's new memorial.

The new memorial featuring the silhouettes of 26 soldiers to represent the men of Purfleet who fell in two world wars was officially unveiled earlier this month.

WORKS of art inspired by Tilbury and created by two youngsters at the town's St Mary's Catholic Primary School will adorn hoardings in the local civic square which promote future developments.

St Mary's year five pupils Max and Ziona were presented with a bundle of goodies by Thurrock MP Jackie Doyle-Price on behalf of the Tilbury Towns Fund Board for their contribution to the display, which also features work from students at the Gateway Academy.
