A ROUTE of a borough bus service has been shortened because of adverse road conditions at Coalhouse Fort in East Tilbury.

Among those affected are a small group of students at St Clere's School in Stanford-le-Hope who will now be dropped at the edge of the village as the bus operators can no longer use the turning circle at the fort because of a huge pothole.

LEADERS of Thurrock's Black and Minority Ethnic group (BME) have condemned the social media attacks and other discriminatory action against England's black footballers after the Euro 2020 final.

Following the penalty shoot-out when three players missed penalties there were many adverse comments about the players on social media and some acts of graffiti and vandalism in the players home towns.

THURROCK's council leader has spoken up in praise of his officers and police after 24 drivers were punished while showing off their cars.

Over the weekend a joint operation between Thurrock Council's environmental enforcement officers and Essex Police saw 24 drivers issued with fixed penalty notices and three drivers warned that their vehicles could be confiscated.

St Nicholas Walk

THURROCK Council planning officers have rejected an application to extend the size of a house of multiple occupancy (HMO) in Chadwell St Mary, saying the proposed site would be too cramped and the extension would increase the amount of traffic to an inappropriate level for the area.

The application sought to convert an existing incidental outbuilding to living accommodation as part of the HMO currently in use at 22 Nicolas Walk.

'You said, We did' was part of the presentation to the task force - but councillors are far from happy with what the agency has done regarding consulation.

REPRESENTATIVES from Highways England took a bit of a pasting from borough councillors for leaving large areas of the borough affected by the planned Lower Thames Crossing out of the latest round of physical consultation events.

The agency has been forced to undertake more consultation to beef up its bid to win a Development Consent Order (DCO) for the scheme from the government, having withdrawn its initial sub-standard presentation and delayed its resubmission after getting hints that it was far from acceptable.

PUPILS at Purfleet Primary Academy have been recognised for showing exceptional behaviour and attitude to learning by attending a 'Golden Tea Party'.

Over the course of this year, pupils have been acknowledged for showing school and British values. The first pupil from each year group to achieve their 'Gold Award' was invited to a tea party hosted by headteacher, Eugene Samuel.
