THURROCK Council is seeking the opinion of local residents about the use of green space in the borough as it continues to shape its much-delays local plan.
It is quizzing residents in eight parts of the borough about their thoughts on the local environment and climate change.

TWO people have been stabbed while parked outside a borough kebab shop - one of them sustaining serious injuries and he remains in hospital this morning (Sunday, 1 August).
The incident happened on Friday evening promptiong a police appeal after officers were called to the scene in Tilbury by ambulance crews around 10pm.
THE owners of a stables destroyed by fire are appealing to the community for help as they try to rebuild.
Three horses were freed before the flames took hold at the stables on St Marys Lane, West Horndon, and two others were in fields so no animals were hurt.

THE Chief Constable of Essex Police has blasted a sacked officer following his conviction for sending inappropriate messages to women.
Essex Police Special Constable Liam McCready-Gardner sent the messages to women he did not know on Instagram while off duty.

AN infant marmoset found living in terrible conditions in a private home in Grays has been rescued by the RSPCA and taken in by Monkey World to live a much better life.
The plight of the little monkey was discovered when a housing officer visited the premises in June 2021 and reported his concerns to the RSPCA.
POLICE have this morning (Friday, 30 July) issued a short statement following the discovery of a body in Corringham yesterday.
Emergency services attended the car park at the junction of Lampits Hill and Giffords Cross Road.

IT is reported that a body has been discovered in a car park in Corringham.
An alert was raised in the late afternoon today (Thursday, 29 July).
A CALL has gone out to local singers or dancers asking if they would like to get involved in a carnival happening in Corringham early next month.
The community event will be held on Saturday, 7 August when organiser, Morrisons store community champion Samantha Ralph has arranged a range of activities outside the town store and in the town square.

POLICE officers in Thurrock have announced they have completed a successful operation in conjunction with Thurrock Council's environment enforcement team to respond to reports of anti-social behaviour in the borough.
A statement from the Thurrock community policing team says: "We had received reports that a number of vehicles including cars, motorbikes and quadbikes, were being driven across the area antisocially and causing a nuisance to the local community.
