LOCAL train users continue to be inconvenienced by problems with c2c rail ticket sales.

This morning (Saturday, 26 March) the company which operates services through seven stations in the borough on the Fenchurch Street line said it still has problems with its sales system, telling potential travellers: "Due to an on-going technical issue, you may not be able to buy tickets at station ticket offices. Please buy your tickets at the ticket machines, c2c app or website - and buy in advance wherever possible.

BLUNDER-prone Thurrock Council appears to have made yet another gaffe with one of its major multi-million pound projects – this time right out of the realms of 'you couldn't make this up.'

It is reported that the centrepiece of the council's new civic offices extension - the new civic chamber where council meetings are to be held - has a major design flaw.

TWO families have been left homeless after a fire in Daiglen Drive, South Ockendon earlier this evening (Friday, 25 March).

A number of crews attended the blaze which has caused significant damage to two adjacent properties in the early evening. While firefighters tackled the blaze, local residents were advised to keep their windows shut as there was significant smoke coming from the fire.
