AS part of their activities during Neighbourhood Policing Week officers from Thurrock division's B Shift Community Policing Team carried out foot and vehicle patrols in South Ockendon yesterday (Sunday, 16 January).

Cannabis was located on three teens in the area and they were dealt with by officers without being taken into custody, with their parents present!

THERE will be two online sessions this evening (Monday, 17 January) for residents in the Stanford-le-Hope area to ask questions of Thurrock Council and express views on the borough's strategic development plans for the area.

The council has divided the borough into eight identified growth areas which are South Ockendon, Horndon on the Hill, Stanford-le-Hope, Corringham, Orsett, East Tilbury, Bulphan and Chadwell St Mary.

ON Sunday (16 January) at Oakfield, Billericay RFC U16s gave a second half rugby masterclass in ball handling and offloading in the tackle. Trailing by ten points at the interval, the visitors, Billericay upped their game and outscored Thurrock by three tries to one in the second half much to the delight of their travelling support.

The man is pulled from the river while onlookers watch from the shore and the Tilbury-Gravesend ferry.

LIFEBOAT crew members, who are funded and supported from Thurrock, were captured on camera rescuing a man who had waded out into the Thames and got trapped in mud.

It has been reported the man has health issues but he was recovered safely and put in the care of ambulance teams. The rescue took place near the LV21 lightship in St Andrews Quay, West Street, Gravesend.

TILBURY FC's assistant manager Luke Wilson parted company with the Dockers in the build-up to this weekend's match with Stowmarket.

Wilson, who briefly took charge of the club in mid November following the departure of then manager Marc Harrison and his assistant Liam Wallace, won both his matches (against Coggeshall and Hullbridge Sports) in control.
