TWO people have been charged with drugs offences following police action which included a raid on a home in South Ockendon.

Acting on information about drugs supply and weapons offences, police officers carried out search warrants at two addresses in Celandine Close, South Ockendon, and Cricketers Lane, Herongate, on Thursday, 25 November.

POLICE were called to deal with problems as rogue partygoers refused to obey the rules and celebrated late into the evening last night (Sunday, 28 November).

Police mounted a stop and check campaign on drivers at Lakeside.

POLICE mounted a weekend campaign on drivers heading to Lakeside for their shopping and netted a wide range of offenders - and have subsequently warned motorists they will be targeted if they do not meet safety standards.

A road check was completed yesterday (Sunday, 28 November) on the main approach to the Lakeside shopping centre and retail parks as part of Op Christmas Presence. Essex Police say the operation aims to prevent crime and anti-social behaviour and ensure the safety of all shoppers and people using the road network.

Village home plan is rejected

PLANNING officers have rejected a bid to build a new home on a lot adjacent to an existing dwelling in Bulphan.

The proposed development adjacent to 2 Manor Cottages on Church Road in Bulphan would have involved the demolition of and existing garage erection of a two storey dwelling with three bedrooms.
