THOUGH a couple have weeks have passed since the theft, a Thurrock family have not given up hope of recovering their stolen pet dog and a reward is in place to help bring him home.

The male adult Russian Bolonka was stolen from the family's vehicle while they were shopping at Bluewater earlier this month.

Ruby and Abbie were kept busy keeping a stream of customers happy as they raised more than £400 for the RSPCA.

TWO caring ten-year olds from East Tilbury were the driving force behind a cake bake and sale in the village pub which has raised more than £400 for the RSPCA.

Ruby Hudson came up with the idea after seeing a video from the animal charity about animal abuse and together with her friend Abbie and the support of the Ship in East Tilbury Village, they set up the cake sale.

THERE was a mixture of joy and disappointment ranging from late shock to joy as the borough's four non-League sides ran the gamut of emotions this afternoon (Saturday, 27 November).

East Thurrock United saw disappointment dragged from the jaws of delight at Merstham's Whisky Bible Stadium and Rocks supporters will no doubt have been needing a drop of the hard stuff to lift spirits on a bitterly cold afternoon in Surrey.

Dick Newman

TRIBUTE has been paid to a much-loved and respected member of the Stanford-le-Hope and Corringham community who passed away in the week.

Richard (Dick) Newman was well known for his work with the Stanford Air Cadet Corps (ATC), for who he was a prolific fundraiser, and was also a popular figure at East Thurrock United FC where he was a frequent supporter at home and away matches.

The HGV entrance and exit point was blocked.

POLICe have announced they arrested 17 people during and after the protest yesterday (Friday, 26 November) outside the Tilbury Amazon fulfuilment centre.

As reported on Nub News as it happened early yesterday morning members of the campaign group Extinction Rebellion mounted a protest by blockaded the HGs and staff entrances at the massive warehouse and distribution centre.
