Phil Roberts, second goal for Tilbury but it wasn't enough.

THERE was double disappointment for borough teams in the Isthmian North Division this evening (Friday, 10 September) as both Grays Athletic and Tilbury went down to defeat.

Grays were looking at the possibility of going top of the table when they travelled to Maldon & Tiptree but found themselves on the back foot after just six minutes when Charlie Hughes opening the scoring for the hosts.

PARENTS and officials of a Thurrock youth football team have spoken optimistically of a brighter and better relationship between themselves and Thurrock Council over the maintenance of local football pitches.

Power outage in west of borough

A POWER lines failure and fire has caused disruption to the electric supply in the west of the borough.

It has been reported that an incident involving power cables around 9am near Watts Wood, Purfleet, resulted in cuts to domestic supply and industrial services, including traffic signals.

Firefighters tackled roof blaze

FIREFIGHTERS were called to a roof fire in Stanford-le-Hope this afternoon, (Friday, 10 September)

Residents of a home on Grove Road were alerted to the fire after their neighbours spotted smoke coming from the roof. The occupants then immediately made their way out of the house and called Essex Fire and Rescue.
