Danny Joyce scores 130 in the Essex Premier League for Belhus CC at Billericay

BELHUS CC 1st XI were away at strugglers, Billericay on Saturday 3rd July in what was a 'must win' Essex Premier league game for both clubs.

Belhus CC batted first with Captain Danny Joyce scoring 130 runs, not out. Joyce's personal contribution of 130 went towards a final total for Belhus of 223 runs from 54 overs. Captain Danny was ably assisted at the crease by Shane Barwick on 32 runs and Sahan Nanayakkara on 27 runs.

SITE operators S. Walsh and Sons have given Thurrock Council detailed reasons why they would like to be granted a short extension to the operating life of the quarry and landfill site they operate in East Tilbury.

The site off Princess Margaret Road close to the old East Tilbury village should have been closed down, with restoration work completed by March this year but the company says adverse weather and Covid-19 meant that this was not possible.

THERE were cancellations and delays to c2c rail services across the region this morning, some of which will extend into the late afternoon, following an incident in which a container lorry hit a bridge.

The crash happened in Pitsea on the B1464 where the rail line passes overhead, close to the Tesco superstore.

AN angry Thurrock councillor has called on the borough council to resume locking the gates of her local cemetery after vandals left a trail of damage and heartache for residents by destroying memorials on Saturday evening.

The community of Chadwell St Mary was shocked by the destruction wreaked by a gang of people who appear to have partied in the cemetery and taken pleasure in smashing items on graves.
