THURROCK Council is appealing for any information and possible dash cam footage after a lorry hit a bridge of the A13 this morning (Monday, 12 October).

The incident happened on the A13 eastbound at 11.32am this morning (Monday 12 October) as the low loader carrying a piece of plant machinery, hit the bridge as it approached the Basildon turnoff at Five Bells.

ESSEX Police have issued a warning to anyone in the region contemplating holding a social event that they may be in big trouble - after stepping in and stopping a wedding reception and issuing the event organiser a summons to court where he faces a £10,000 fine.

Essex Police's Assistant Chief Constable Andy Prophet: "This wedding party was a blatant breach of the current restrictions which only allows for 15 people to be present at a wedding.

INVESTIGATIVE and recovery work remains ongoing after emergency services attended a multi-vehicle collision on the westbound carriageway of the A13 between the North Stifford interchange and the M25 which left at least two people seriously injured.

A statement from Essex Fire and Rescue Service said: " "Firefighters were called to a road traffic collision on the A13 at the Stifford Interchange.

THURROCK Council is celebrating National Adoption Week, taking place from Monday 12 to Sunday 18 October, by hosting a virtual information session for those interested in welcoming a child or young person into their lives through adoption.

Cllr James Halden, Cabinet Member for Social Care, said: "Adoption is a great way for people and families to open their hearts and offer a loving home to Thurrock's most vulnerable children. Through adopting a child or young person you can offer a permanent home to those who are not able to be looked after by their own families, and provide them with an environment that best meets their needs.
