DESPITE a previous apology by Thurrock Council and a pledge to make things better, residents in the borough's showcase new block of social housing are still suffering delays and non collections of their rubbish.

PLANS being considered to introduce speed calming measures on a busy road outside a Stanford-le-Hope secondary school have been welcomed by Stanford-le-Hope West councillors Terry Piccolo and Shane Hebb.

As Thurrock Nub News first reported last week Thurrock Council are proposing to install speed cushions along Butts Lane and London Road, Stanford-le-Hope, as part of funding provided by the government.

A PLANNING application has now been submitted for a new Thurrock secondary school to be built next to USP Palmer's College.

The site for the proposed Thames Park School is an area of green belt land situated between Little Thurrock and Chadwell St Mary, accessed via Wood View from the North and Marshfoot Road from the South.

THE final curtain has been drawn on a dramatic riverside incident which saw emergency services combine to recover two bodies from the Thames in Grays earlier this year.

On Thursday, 13 February Thurrock Nub News reported live from the scene as police, ambulance and fire service crews worked together in an operation by the side of the Wharf pub after the body of a woman was spotted on the river bank. During the incident, a second body was discovered.

A MAN, jailed five years ago for leaving a man brain damaged after beating him over a cigarette, has been found guilty of murder and jailed for life after his victim died from complications related to the attack.

Jake Tierney-Campbell, now 25, was convicted of causing grievous bodily harm and jailed for 14-years in 2015 for the horrific assault on Daniel Bodimeade.
