THE company that ran the food mall at Intu Lakeside's new Plaza leisure extension have broken their silence about the circumstances which saw the venue unexpectedly closed on 19 December.

Grays roads that will be affected by changes in traffic flow, starting later this month.

THURROCK Council will be making changes to traffic flows in Grays town centre later this month as it completes its plans to bring two way traffic through some of the town's main roads.

It has given notice of a number of prohibition orders that it plans to put in place from 16 January. The changes are scheduled to run until March 2020 but they council has made an allowance for them to overrun for 15 months if required.

AFTER several years of planning, Thurrock Council is pushing ahead with its plans to start the Purfleet Regeneration project and is seeking to compulsory purchase an area of land and open space known as Hollow Woods.

The authority has advertised its intentions and is seeking comment and objections from interested parties - and have given residents just over three weeks to get them recorded.

RESIDENTS at a Thurrock care home will spend a third night away from their rooms as Thurrock Council says it still does not have a clear understanding of what caused a power failure there on New Year's Eve.

This evening, more than 50 hours after the problem first arose, the Collins House complex in Corringham which houses up to 45 single elderly residents, including some with dementia, remains closed.

A recent litter pick by the Beachcombers at Tilbury

THE coming weekend will bring the first of the new year's litter picks on the River Thames shoreline by the Grays Beschcombers.

They will meet and welcome other volunteers at Grays Yacht Club RM17 6JF at 10.30am on Sunday (5 January) and will pick until noon followed by free refreshments in the Lighthouse café.
