A WORLD-ranked wrestling tag team delighted pupils at Treetops School by visiting, meeting children and leaving mementos and autographs.

The event this week was something of a homecoming for one of the popular duo, Lewis Howley and Sam Stoker. Grays-born Lewis, who is also a model, is a former student at Stanford-le-Hope's Hassenbrook School.

POLICE are urging witnesses and victims to come forward following an incident of mass disorder in Tilbury last night (Thursday, 17 March) after a large fight had broken out in the street outside the Irish Social Club in Dock Road just after 10.20pm.

Detective Inspector Phil Moulsher, who is leading the investigation, said: "We know that Tilbury is a small, tight-knit community, and we want to make sure that we get to the bottom of what happened last night.

BOROUGH residents and motorists are reminded that from 9pm this evening (Friday, 18 March) the A13 will be closed in both directions between the A1014 (Stanford-le-Hope) and A128 (Orsett) junctions this weekend, for road surfacing, lining and lane re-alignment works as part of the A13 widening project.

The closures will remain until 5am on Monday, 21 March with traffic diverted via the A1013 Stanford Road instead.

BBC News presenter Martine Croxall hosted the hour-and-a-half online conversation between Ruth Kelly, the chair of Thames Freeport; Thurrock Council CEO Lyn Carpenter, Lucy Whittaker, founding director of Alpha Vesta; Maria Fasli, a professor of computer science and executive dean of the Faculty of Science and Health at the University of Essex; and Samantha Wait, director of business development and external affairs at Swan Housing Association.
