Footpath closed for 24 hours

THURROCK Council have advised that a footpath in the west of the borough will be closed for just over 24 hours from late this evening (Saturday, 4 September).

St Clements footpath, adjacent to Porter Close and Hedley Avenue, West Thurrock, will be closed from 11pm tonight until 4am on Monday, 6 September will works take place.

BL bikers heading for Purfleet

PURFLEET'S Heritage and Military Centre will play host tomorrow (Sunday, 5 September) to the Royal British Legion Riders' Purfleet Bike Gathering.

The event from 10am to 3pm will feature the sale of food and drink and music all day and the bike riders will be showing their machines in competition for prizes which include 'Best Cruiser', 'Best Custom' and 'Best Sports Bike'.

CELEBRATION will be the order of the day on Saturday and Sunday this weekend as members of a local charitable foundation raise awareness in Grays.

On Saturday (4 September) the Anthonia Oyindamola Folakemi Afelumo Coshare (AOFAC) Foundation will host its annual 5k walk, jog and run which will start at the Grays Baptist Church on Orsett Road at 10.30am.
