STANFORD-le-Hope's Arthur Bugler Primary School has added another top accolade to its growing list of awards honours.

The primary is one of 102 Pearson National Teaching Silver Award winners across the country with the citation recognising the "outstanding commitment to changing the lives of the children they work with every day. Arthur Bugler Primary really is a lovely family to be a part of".

A THURROCK youngster who has always put others in front of her own needs, despite having to combat a serious illness for most of her life, has been honoured with a Jack Petchey award.

The awards from the charity set up by altruistic self-made millionaire Sir Jack Petchey honour young people across London and Essex who are doing inspirational things to help their community, offering motivation to others and truly showcasing the positive things young people do every day.

ONE of Thurrock's 'hidden gems' - The Purfleet Heritage & Military Centre – is back in operation after safeguarding regulations because of the Covid pandemic were relaxed.

The volunteer-run centre, which has now been established for 25 years within Magazine No.5 of what was once the Royal Magazine for Gunpowder situated on the banks of the River Thames at Centurion Way, Purfleet (RM91ZZ ).
