A man was attacked and robbed on Whitmore Avenue after visiting shops on nearby Crammavill Street

POLICE are investigating a robbery in the Stifford Clays are of Grays last night when a man was followed , assaulted and robbed after he had visited the local parade of shops on Cramavill Street.

A statement from police issued this morning (Tuersday, 22 February) says: "We were called at around 9.05pm on Monday 21 February to reports of a robbery in Whitmore Avenue, Grays.

Police dealt with the aftermath of Saturday's incident

TWO men arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and a number of other offences following an incident on the A13 on Saturday (19 February) have been released without charge while investigations continue.

The two men are a 23 year-old from Romford arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, theft of a motor vehicle, failing to stop when directed, and money laundering and a 31 year-old from Aveley has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop when directed, and possession of a Class B or C drug.

CLEAN-up operations continue in the borough following several days of storms and high winds affecting Thurrock and leading local councillors have praised the efforts of teams of workers that have been clearing up fallen trees and lamppost columns as well as making repairs to roads and road signs.

Council leader Cllr Rob Gledhill, said: "The high winds damaged a number of trees, lampposts and road signs as well as some of our buildings.

THURROCK planning officers have again refused permission to develop a site in Bulphan for new homes.

They have rejected an application by Ms Sally-Anne Payne, submitted in December, to demolish an existing building and create two new five bedroom homes on the site on land to the rear of 'Conifers' on Brentwood Road in Bulphan, adjacent to 'Orchard House' on Peartree Lane.

The Audi captured by a passing dashcam as it drove onto the A13 in the wrong direction

POLICE have released more details this evening (Saturday, 19 February) and issued an appeal for information following this afternoon's incident on the A13 near Stanford-le-Hope when a car drove the wrong way down the eastbound carriageway and ended up being involved in a crash.

The statement from police about the incident, featured earlier today on Thurrock Nub News, says: "We are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dash cam footage following a collision on the A13.
