MOTORISTS who use the a13 who thought they might be spared a weekend of closures along the A13 as Thurrock Council decided not to sanction any for Remembrance weekend will be disappointed to learn that a chunk of the busy road will still be shut off.

As reported on Nub News a section of eastbound A13 near the Five Bells roundabout has been subject to lane narrowing because of a fault on the carriageway.

PLANS for a showcase country park by the side of the Thames at Tilbury, promised by the government team behind the proposed Lower Thames Crossing are being significantly changed.

National Highways, the new name for Highways England, has announced probable alterations to its vision for a new park and improved river frontage today (Thursday, 11 November) because of the probable expansion of the Port of Tilbury as part of the new Thames Freeport.

Borough pays 11 o'clock tribute

Youngsters from Woodside Academy attended the service.

ACROSS Thurrock this morning, at 11am on November 11th, tribute was paid to the nation's fallen heroes with moments of silence, prayers and tributes to mark Armistice Day.

Short ceremonies took place at memorials including Grays and Stanford-le-Hope while there were more personal moments at some others where there was quiet reflection.

SHARKS and seahorses are among the unusual creatures which live in the tidal Thames, according to a new report checking the health of the river's ecosystem.

Species of shark including tope, starry smooth hound and spurdog, can be found in the river, along with short-nosed seahorses and eels.
